Residents have been evacuated from an apartment building at 8 Concord St. in West Hartford after a small basement fire.
A resident called the fire department after seeing smoke.
The fire was short-lived and firefighters put it out before 8:45 a.m.
Firefighters went through decontamination as a precaution because of possible asbestos in the basement.
