A massive 5-alarm fire that damaged three homes in Stamford on Monday sent seven people to the hospital and has displaced 32 residents.
The blaze broke out in an apartment at 50 Alden St., near Stamford Hospital, at 5:12 p.m. and spread to a neighboring house at 46 Alden St.
The property at 46 Wright St. was also damaged, but residents were not displaced, according to the fire department.
Three civilians and four firefighters were taken to the Stamford Hospital Emergency Department to be checked. Of them, one civilian and two firefighters were admitted to be checked further.
It took firefighters hours to put it out and the road is now opened.
Two people and five firefighters were treated for heat-related problems.
It is not clear how the fire started.
