New Milford firefighters have responded to a barn fire on Ridge Road in New Milford that has shut down the road.
The fire was reported at about 3:55 p.m. The road is closed between Upper Reservoir Road and Hartwell Road.
The fire was under control as of 8:10 p.m., but the road was still closed. It should reopen in another hour and a half to two hours.
No one has been reported injured.
The fire is taking awhile to get under control because the barn is filled with hay.
Firefighters from Sherman, Northville, Brookfield, Gaylordsville, Danbury, Roxbury, Mill Plain, Mirybrook, New Fairfield, Ball Pond, Kent and Washington also responded.
Multiple tanker trucks were on scene and were lined up for about half a mile down the road because there aren't any fire hydrants in the area.
