A 37-foot boat went up in flames and sank at the Norwich marina on Wednesday night, according to officials with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
The Norwich Fire Department was called out to the marina at 1 American Wharf in Norwich shortly after 7 p.m., where the boat was engulfed in flames.
The DEEP and U.S. Coast Guard also responded to the scene. A spokesperson for the DEEP said some fuel leaked out of the sunken vessel, but it's not clear how much spilled. The DEEP will bring in a contractor to pump remaining fuel from the boat.
No injuries have been reported.
