A Bridgeport man turned himself into Westport Police after a yearlong investigation into a Thanksgiving day sexual assault.
Joseph Carey, 23, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant issued by the Westport Police Detective Bureau Youth Division.
According to police, Carey choked and sexually assaulted a juvenile female that was visiting her family for Thanksgiving last November.
Carey is charged with Sexual Assault 1st and Risk of Injury to a Minor.
He was released after posting $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Nov. 1.
