A car fire on Interstate 91 south on the Middletown/Cromwell line is causing delays Tuesday night.
A station wagon caught fire and the flames have since been extinguished.
The highway is limited to one lane in the southbound direction between exits 21 and 20, with traffic getting by in the left lane.
A wrecker was on its way to remove the vehicle from the scene and the highway should be cleared soon, according to state police.
No one was injured.
