A home on Abbe Road in East Windsor was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday.
East Windsor police said crews responded to 63 Abbe Road around 4:40 p.m. The homeowner was able to escape with the family pets unharmed before firefighters arrived.
Multiple departments came out to control the blaze, which spread to the woods behind the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced family.
