A former postal employee accused of assaulting the postmaster at the 141 Weston St. branch in Hartford on Tuesday morning is in police custody.
The former employee, who was recently let go, stormed into the postmaster's office around 8 a.m, pushed her to the ground and left, officials said. The person, whose name has not been released, was in custody as of 12:30 p.m.
The postmaster sustained a cut on her head and was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and released, officials said.
