Meeting on Fate of Forestville Post Office on Thursday

Post office in Bristol is one of 15 in Connecticut that could consolidate or close.

The financially-strapped U.S. Postal Service is considering closing more than 3,000 of its locations around the country, including 15 sites in Connecticut, and there is a public meeting about one of those local sites on Thursday night.

A public meeting about Forestville Station in Bristol will be held at the Bristol Public Library, at 5 High St., in room 2 at 6:30 p.m.

The U.S. Postal Service is conducting studies across the country as it considers consolidating or close postal facilities and feedback from the public during Thursday’s meeting will be included in the final study to determine which sites close.
