Girl Hurt By Propeller at Lake Zoar

A propeller gashed a 12-year old Naugatuck girl’s leg on Friday afternoon as she was ejected from a speed boat on Lake Zoar in Monroe.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. when the girl was serving as a spotter for a person on a tube the boat was towing.

She apparently fell out of the rear of the boat when it turned into a wake and her leg was cut by the propeller, according to DEEP.

The girl was taken to Bridgeport Hospital

The gash is non-life-threatening, according to officials from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
