New Haven firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at Grafton Street and Downing Street Sunday morning.
Firefighters said they were called to the scene around 5 a.m. Crews knocked the fire down quickly but the home is a total loss, officials said.
The extreme heat from weather conditions and the fire made it a difficult job for firefighters.
One firefighter was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor burns to his knees, fire officials said. None of the home’s occupants were injured.
The Red Cross is assisting a family of five displaced by the fire.
