Drivers will have a chance to pay $1.84 per gallon for gas this Thursday, thanks to a political stunt.
The group Americans for Prosperity - Connecticut will host a gas rollback event at Danby's Gulf Express at 872 East Main Street in Meriden from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The conservative group says the reduced rate is the price at the pump before President Obama took office.
Drivers can receive 15 gallons at the $1.84 price per gallon on Thursday, according to the group's website.
AFP -Connecticut says State Senator Len Suzio of Meriden will be in attendance.
The promotion will be limited to the first 150 cars at the gas station. Americans for Prosperity said it will pay Danby's the difference for each gallon sold.
Americans for Prosperity has held the same promotion in other states, including Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Colorado.
