Metro-North issued speed restrictions for about 45 minutes on Thursday after a truck struck the Washington Street Bridge in Norwalk by South Main and Washington streets and police were urging drivers to avoid the area.
Norwalk Police Tweeted out the crash around 8:15 a.m.

The Metro-North speed restrictions were issued out of an abundance of caution and have since been lifted after the bridge was inspected, according to Aaron Donovan, of the MTA.
