The Iranian government has labeled Yale University as one of its enemies.
The New Haven school made the government's list of 60 "subversive" international organizations Iran's government said is trying to undermine the Middle Eastern country's government, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security included Yale among other organizations the ministry argued citizens should not work with or take aid from, according to The Guardian.
Also making the list were the National Democratic Institute, the International Republican Institute, the BBC Persian, and the Foundation for Democracy in Iran.
Another group on the list, Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, is also based in New Haven.
No specifics were outlined in the Iranian government's edict.
Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security said any contact or support between Yale and Iranian citizens is "illegal and forbidden."
