A longtime tutoring center in West Hartford that abruptly closed its doors last week and will reopen. The sudden shutdown of the Sylvan Learning Center at Bishop’s Corner took many parents by surprise.
The NBC Connecticut Troubleshooters started asking questions and learned it will reopen under new ownership but the timing has changed. A new owner took over the franchise. Originally he planned to reopen tomorrow, one week after the sudden closure. Now Sylvan will welcome students and parents back next Monday.
A spokeswoman for Sylvan says the owner pushed back the reopening to Monday because he had “operational and technical” glitches that needed more time to be worked out.
