Next Saturday will mark two years since Lieutenant Dustin Demonte and Sergeant Alex Hamzy were killed in the line of duty in Bristol. A relative of Sgt. Hamzy is honoring his memory through the sale of luminaries.

The Office of the Inspector General released a final report Wednesday on the Oct. 2022 ambush killing of Bristol Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy.

Hockey became an unlikely source of healing for the Bristol police force, who started the Honor Them Hockey Club in the wake of Sgt. Alex Hamzy and Lt. Dustin Demonte’s deaths in October of 2022.
