On August 10, Stamford is throwing itself a city wide dinner party to prove that they're "the dining capital of the region." (Wait a minute, we thought Westport was.) Regardless, the marketing stunt is good news for local eaters insofar as it means free food and drink. Show up at 5:30 p.m. on the UConn-Stamford campus and graze on hors d'oeuvres and cocktails provided by ZAZA Italian Gastrobar, Kujaku Japanese Restaurant, Black Bear Saloon, Southport Brewing Company, Market Restaurant, Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery Cafe, Mitchell's Fish Market and Morton's The Steakhouse.
At 7:30 p.m, you'll then be dispatched to one of 14 area restaurants for multi-course meals. The lineup of participating restos include Bar Rosso, Chez Jean-Pierre, Aria Restaurant, Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar, Butterfield 8, Columbus Park Trattoria, Napa & Co. and Tappo.
