Some school districts and universities in Connecticut are making changes to the class or activity calendars because of concerns over the coronavirus. The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference is canceling all remaining CIAC winter tournament games amid concerns about coronavirus.

Amity Regional Schools are closed until further notice.
Avon Public Schools
Avon Public Schools will be closed effective Monday, March 16 through March 29.

Bethany Public Schools
Schools are closed until further notice.
Bethel Public Schools
Bethel Public Schools will be closed Friday after an attendee at a conference attended by Bethel High School students and staff tested positive for COVID-19. None of the students and staff are showing symptoms, but they are self-monitoring.
School officials said they would provide an update on the situation Friday.
Bloomfield Public Schools
Bloomfield Public Schools is closing all schools indefinitely beginning Monday, March 16.
Bridgeport Public Schools
Bridgeport public schools are closing Friday and will be closed for the following week.
As of Wednesday, all visitors, mentors and volunteers from outside the direct school community are on hold until further notice and only parents will be allowed to go to school and interact with their children.
Bristol Public Schools
Bristol Public Schools will be closed for 11 days beginning Friday, March 13.
Brookfield Public Schools
Brookfield Public Schools will be closed effective Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 27.
Capitol Region Education Council (CREC)
All 16 CREC magnet schools will be closed effective Monday, March 16.
Cheshire Public Schools
Cheshire Pubilc Schools will dismiss early on Friday, March 13 and remain closed through Friday, March 27. The district is looking into plans for remote learning.
Choate Rosemary Hall
Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford is extending its spring break due to COVID-19 concerns and said it plans to conduct remote learning once students return.
Remote learning will begin for students and faculty on Wednesday, March 25 and will continue through at least Friday, April 3.
Cromwell Public Schools
Cromwell Public Schools will be closed starting Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27. Students will be given access to materials online to continue learning during the time period.
Danbury Public Schools
The Danbury Public Schools website says schools will be closed for the next two weeks.
Derby Public Schools
Derby Public Schools will be closed for two weeks with plans to return Monday March 30, 2020.
Darien Public Schools
Darien Public Schools are closing for two weeks amid concerns about coronavirus.
Supt. Alan Addley sent a message to families on Wednesday, saying that Darien public schools are closing for 14 calendar days, from Thursday, March 12, and the scheduled date of return to school is Thursday, March 26.
East Hartford Public Schools
East Hartford Public Schools will be closed through at least March 27.
Ellington Public Schools
Ellington Public Schools will be closed for at least two weeks beginning Monday, March 16.
Enfield Public Schools
Enfield Public Schools are closed effective Thursday, March 12. They will send guidance on how to begin distance learning plans on Friday.
Fairfield Public Schools
Fairfield public schools will be closed until further notice beginning Friday, March 13.
The closure applies to all extracurricular student activities and athletic activities as well.
"There are no currently identified COVID-19 cases in town, but public health authorities have advised us that community transmission of COVID-19 is now occurring in our area. We are taking this measure as an additional precaution," a statement from superintendent Mike Cummings said.
Farmington Public Schools
Granby Public Schools
Granby Public Schools will be closed for two weeks, beginning Monday, March 16. The plan is to return on March 30.
Greenwich Public Schools
All Greenwich public schools are closed from Thursday, March 12, through the following week.
Hamden Public Schools
Hamden is closing public schools, starting Friday and before- and after- school and adult education programs are also canceled.
Hartford Public Schools
All Hartford public schools will be closed indefinitely beginning Monday, March 16.
A press release from Mayor Luke Bronin's office said the decision will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Litchfield Public Schools
Litchfield Public Schools will be closed for at least two weeks.
Keigwin Middle School, Middletown
Keigwin Middle School will be closed Thursday, March 12, and Friday, March 13, after reports a person may have been in contact with an individual in Connecticut who tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to officials, they will make a determination on when to reopen the school based on the outcome of testing.
Madison Public Schools
Madison public schools are closed, starting Monday, March 16 and until further notice.
Manchester School District
All Manchester Public Schools will close indefinitely effective Monday, March 16.
Meriden Public Schools
Meriden Public Schools are closed from March 13 to March 27.
Middletown Public Schools
All Middletown Public Schools will be closed for two weeks, through Friday, March 27, but the superintendent sent a message to families saying that there is no final return date.
Milford Public Schools
Milford Public Schools will be closed starting Monday, March 16 until further notice. They will reevaluate the decision within two weeks.
Families will receive information on supplemental learning plans.
Naugatuck Public Schools
Naugatuck Public Schools are closing effective Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 27. Graduation, which is set for June 11, will not be affected, school officials said.
New Britain Public Schools
New Britain Public Schools are closing for the next two weeks starting Monday, March 16.
"This is not a vacation. Students will be expected to work a school day from home and we will institute a curfew," Stewart said in a statement.
New Canaan Public Schools
New Canaan Public Schools will be closed for the next 14 days starting Friday. The district will start e-learning programs on Friday.
The news comes the same day state officials announced the third case of COVID-19 in the state, an New Canaan resident.
New Fairfield Public Schools
New Fairfield Public Schools and offices are closed until further notice.
New Haven Schools
New Milford Public Schools
New Milford Public Schools will be closed until further notice.
Newington Public Schools
Newington Public Schools will be closed effective Friday, March 13 until further notice. School buildings will be open until 10 p.m. Thursday to allow students, faculty and staff to pick up any necessary items.
North Haven Public Schools
North Haven is closing its public schools from March 13 until at least March 30, according to a spokesperson.
Norwalk Public Schools
Norwalk Public School will have a two-hour early dismissal Friday, March 13 and then close for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16.
Norwich Free Academy
Old Saybrook
Old Saybrook schools will be closed for at least two weeks
Orange Public Schools
Orange Public Schools are closed until further notice.
Region 5 (Amity Regional) Public Schools
Amity Regional Public Schools, which covers Bethany, Orange and Woodbridge are closed effective immediately, a notice posted Thursday said.
Region 9 School District
The Region 9 school district, which includes Easton and Redding, will be closed effective Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 20.
Region 14 School District
Officials said that student and their family are not showing any signs of illness and are self-monitoring in their home for 14 days, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
The district has decided to close all school buildings from March 11 through March 15 to deep clean and disinfect. There will be no activities during the closure.
The closure will be treated the same as snow days and the days will be made up at the end of the school year, the notice said.
Region 14 is also postponing or canceling large events, including the middle school and high school play rehearsals, and canceling all field trips until further notice. Sports have also been canceled.
Seymour Public Schools
Simsbury Public Schools
Simsbury Public Schools will be closed starting Monday, March 16 through at least Friday, March 27. During that time, the schools will be cleaned thoroughly.
South Windsor Public Schools
South Windsor Public Schools will be closed for at least two weeks beginning Monday.
Stamford Public Schools
Stamford Public Schools are closed effective Friday, March 13 through at least Friday, March 27.
Stratford Public Schools
Trumbull Schools
Trumbull public and private schools are closed effective Friday, March 13 until further notice. This includes any after-school activities and any events held in Trumbull Public Schools.
Wallingford Public Schools
Wallingford Public Schools are closed effective Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 27.
Waterbury Public Schools
Waterbury Public Schools are closed through at least March 20. A grab-and-go meal service will be made available for students who receive meals through the district.
West Hartford Public Schools
Public schools in West Hartford will be closed starting Monday, March 16 over coronavirus concerns.
The school district is hoping to reopen after a two-week closure, the district superintendent, Tom Moore, said in a statement.
"I do not take this step lightly. I know that some would have me wait until there is a positive COVID 19 test in West Hartford, but the simple reality is that there have been, at this point in time, well under 100 tests given in the state of Connecticut," Moore said.
The school district has set up a special website for coronavirus-related questions.
Wethersfield Public Schools
Wethersfield Public Schools are closing effective Monday, March 16 through Frida,y March 27.
Woodbridge School District
The Woodbridge School District is closed until further notice.
Woodstock Academy
The school has moved its practice eLearning day to tomorrow, Friday, March 13 and students will not report to school. Instead, they will be guided through a schedule of their normal classes using remote technology. Students will need to log-on and participate to get credit for being present.
Colleges and Universities With Impacts to Classes or Activities
Albertus Magnus College
Albertus Magnus is extending spring break by one week for undergraduate students, starting classes on Monday, March 23, and shifting all classes online through at least March 29. Classes for graduate and professional studies will resume on Monday, March 16.
Students who live in the New Haven campus will have the option to stay home or return to their residence halls starting March 22.
Events through March 29 are postponed or canceled.
Central Connecticut State University/CCSU
Central Connecticut State University closed its campus on Thursday after learning a student may have had contact with someone who is being tested for COVID-19, according to an email from the university's president.
Earlier this week, CCSU had announced they would close residence halls from Friday, March 13 until Sunday, April 5 and move all classes online until at least April 5.
The school had previously canceled all university-sponsored travel out of the state, including conferences and recruiting visits.
Students, faculty and staff are being discouraged from personal travel outside of state, especially during spring break. The school asks people who travel to check with the school before returning to campus. CCSU requests members of the university community to fill out a form ahead of their trip.
CCSU has said to give prorated refunds for room and board from March 23 to April 5 for students who are not living in university housing.

Connecticut State Universities and Connecticut Community Colleges (CSCU)
All four of the Connecticut State Universities and 12 Connecticut Community colleges will move to an online-only class format from Monday, March 23 through at least Sunday, April 5. Residence halls will be closed until April 5, and students were urged to take home class materials over spring break.
The schools will find alternative housing for students who had planned to stay on campus during spring break.
Fairfield University
Fairfield University will host all classes online from March 16 through March 29. Students that left campus for spring break are asked not to return until March 29. Those who need special accommodations should contact Residence Life.
The school has also canceled or postponed all events of more than 100 people and placed restrictions on buildings like the library and other common areas. Sporting events will occur without spectators, and support services like counseling and psychological services or academic advising will be done virtually.
Lauralton Hall School
Lauralton Hall in Milford is closed for the rest of the week after a parent reported being exposed to Coronavirus.
Learning for the students is set to continue online.
Mitchell College
On campus-classes are canceled starting Friday, March 13 through Monday, March 16. Beginning Tuesday, March 17, classes will be online at normal class times through at least March 29.
Norwalk Community College
A Norwalk Community College student is self-monitoring for symptoms after potentially coming into contact with someone who has coronavirus.
School officials at Norwalk Community College decided to cancel all classes after Tuesday night.
While the college is closed, classrooms and offices will be deep cleaned and disinfected, according to the school.
College offices are expected to reopen on Monday, March 16, and classes will resume after spring break on Monday, March 23.
Quinnipiac University
Quinnipiac announced Tuesday that starting Wednesday, March 18, they will switch to online classes. Online classes will be held at the normally scheduled time, and professors will send guidance on how to access class and class materials.
Students, who were on spring break this week, will have the option of staying home and taking classes remotely. Those who wish to return to campus will not be able to come back until Sunday, March 22. The school noted that if the health situation changes they may delay the return to campus.
Anyone who is ill or under recommendations to self-isolate should not return to campus.
The university said the plans are subject to change as the situation develops.

Sacred Heart University
Residence and dining halls will remain open and students are welcome to stay on campus.
University-sponsored international travel and nonessential business travel has been canceled.
The school has set up a special website here.
Southern Connecticut State University
SCSU has shut down for the next five days to allow for a deep cleaning and disinfecting of all buildings. All scheduled classes have been canceled.
After spring break, classes will be online only until at least April 5.
University of Bridgeport
The University of Bridgeport will put all classes online starting Monday, March 16.
University of Connecticut
The University of Connecticut will move to online class instruction starting Monday, March 23. This applies to classes at the Storrs campus, regional campuses and the School of Law. School officials said they expect to hold classes online through at least Monday, April 6.
Students who are able to stay off-campus after spring break are asked to do so. Those who don't have other options should contact Student Affairs/Residential Life.
Dining halls and other essentials will stay open, but the Rec Center and other public facilities will be closed.
Additionally, UConn's Stamford campus has been closed, effective Friday, March 13. Officials made this decision given the spread of COVID-19 cases in that region, including on in Stamford, and because of its proximity to New York State.
The school has also canceled all events larger than 100 people starting Saturday, March 14. Athletics have been suspended indefinitely.
University of New Haven/UNH
Athletic events for March 9 through March 24 have been canceled.
Residence halls are closed as of 5 p.m. on March 10.
"While there currently are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our campus, these decisions were made after learning that individuals on our campus may have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus after attending an out-of-state conference," a statement on the university website said.

Wesleyan University
Wesleyan University is suspending in-person classes due to the coronavirus through the remainder of the spring semester. They will transition to a distance learning model.
Undergraduate students will be able to return to campus through March 23 to collect their belongings. Students without special approval will have to leave campus at that time.
Western Connecticut State University/WCSU
Western Connecticut State University has directed all students to go home for the next three weeks. Residence halls will close at 5 p.m. Friday and students will not be able to return until Sunday, April 5. Classes will go online starting March 23 through at least April 3.
All campus events are canceled through April 30.
Weston Public Schools
Weston Public Schools are closed after members of the community may have been exposed to COVID-19. Schools are closed until further notice. An update on specific plans is expected Thursday.
Westport Public Schools
A statement on the school district’s website says that “a number of Westport parents and Westport Public School students, in schools throughout our district, were in contact with an individual presumed to be positive with coronavirus.”
Wilton Public Schools
The SAT at Wilton High School, scheduled for Saturday is also canceled. A statement on the school district's website says that students who registered will receive information from the College Board by mail or email in the next few days about options for where and when students can take the SAT.
A statement on the school district's website says in addition to closing the schools, the town of Wilton's Comstock Community Center and Trackside Teen Center are closed until further notice and all sports and other activities involving Wilton public schools students are suspended until further notice.
Yale University
Yale University is moving all classes online through April 5, school officials announced Tuesday.
Students were on spring break this week, and the university is asking everyone to remain home. Students who remained on campus are being asked to leave no later than Sunday, March 15.
Officials have also prohibited all university-sponsored international travel, and is encouraging people to consider postponing domestic travel and find ways to work online. They are also asking the community to reconsider any personal international travel, and limit domestic travel, especially if it involves large events. You also must register your travel.
