Hospitalizations Fall; Coronavirus Cases Approach 40,000

Connecticut saw another large drop in coronavirus-related hospitalizations on Friday. There was a net decrease of 76 hospitalizations, according to the state Department of Public Health.

There were 432 new COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total to 39,640 since the pandemic began in Connecticut.

The state also saw another 55 fatalities on Friday. The death toll in Connecticut now stands at 3,637.
