A deer processing business with "unsanitary conditions" has been ordered to close in Beacon Falls, police said.
Beacon Falls and EnCon police officers executed a search and seizure warrant at a business called New England Wild Game - Deer Processing on Dec. 6.
Officers saw numerous building and land use violations on the property, as well as unsanitary conditions both inside and outside the home's processing facility.
The owners were cited for numerous public health and safety violations, as well as unapproved additions and alterations to the property, according to police.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said two people were arrested and they face charges including risk of injury to a child and criminal possession of a firearm.
The town's land use department issued an immediate "notice to discontinue" operations due to zoning violations. DEEP officials said the facility didn't have a taxidermy license for 2024.
Woodbridge animal control officers also took custody of numerous pets and 28 chickens and ducks, which were surrendered by the owners.

Several agencies assisted with the investigation, which remains active and ongoing. Any hunters that dropped off a deer for taxidermy or processing at the facility is asked to contact investigators at 860-424-3333.
