Two guns have been found inside Weaver High School in Hartford and a student has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The school was in a code yellow lockdown until about 3:15 p.m. Since then, all students have been dismissed, buses have left and the lockdown was lifted.
A firearm threat was initially reported around 11:30 a.m. According to a statement from Hartford Public Schools, no students or staff were injured, and the police have deemed everyone safe.
“The investigation is ongoing, whether or not there was more students involved or if just one student was specifically involved in bringing the firearms to school,” said Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department. At this point, Hartford Police are out here investigating, as well as security, as well as our special investigative unit.”
