Three people who lost consciousness after taking what they thought was Xanax at a house party were revived with an opiod antidote and had to be taken to the hospital, according to police.
Police responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts at 293 Elm St. in West Haven at 12:08 a.m. because two people were unconscious in a vehicle and one person was unconscious inside the doughnut shop, police said.
Paramedics administered Narcan, an antidote to heroin, and all three people told first responders they took what they thought was the anti-anxiety drug Xanax at a house party.
All three were sent to hospital for evaluation.
At 2:30 a.m., police responded to a home on Brown Street address for a crash and found two people unconscious in a vehicle. Paramedics revived these people with Narcan as well and both were sent to a hospital to be evaluated.
Both said they bought heroin in New Haven.
Detectives are investigating in both cases.
