A posting on a website claims a familiar face is ready to welcome back customers for the first time in almost twenty years.
Ames Department Stores, Inc. made the announcement on their website that they will be opening locations in Connecticut once again starting in the Spring of 2023.
The department store chain closed down its locations in the early 2000s.
NBC Connecticut contacted a spokesperson listed on the website for additional details.

In an email response, Shannon de Molyneux replied Monday night and said the company would be opening stores in Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania first before expanding to Rhode Island.
de Molyneux lists her position as President of Cross Moline Ventures, a subsidiary of Molyneux Group.
NBC Connecticut found a phone number for the Molyneux Group, but it was non-functioning.

We contacted de Molyneux again on Tuesday. She initially responded that she would try have her colleague available for an interview. When we replied with more questions about the Ames stores opening in Connecticut, she did not respond again.
The original Ames Departments Stores, Inc. had its headquarters in Rocky Hill.
