Hundreds of people laced up their sneakers for the annual Lung Force Walk in East Hartford on Sunday.
The two-and-a-half mile walk helped to raise money for lung cancer research, education and awareness.
One survivor we spoke with talked about the meaning of all this support.
"Fighting lung disease, lung cancer, you need support. It's not an easy thing, actually any cancer, you need people behind you," Douglas Clarke, Rocky Hill firefighter and lung cancer survivor, said.
Organizers expected to raise over $55,000 this year.
