The search for a missing person at Bluff Point Park in Groton has ended in tragedy.
Officials from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said Wednesday that the man they were searching for was found deceased and his death is believed to have been by suicide.
DEEP said the man’s friends reported him missing on Friday. His vehicle was seen in Bluff Point State Park yesterday and the missing man was found Wednesday.. The Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
The park remains closed and is expected to reopen later this afternoon.
