Bristol police are investigating a fatal Friday evening shooting that resulted in the death of a 63-year-old man.
According to police, officers responded to Woodland Street at around 5:22 p.m. on a report of a shooting incident with a victim on the ground
Police said Daniel J. Caron, with a last known address of Bristol, CT, was shot once in the chest while in the driveway of 240 Woodland Street.
According to police, Caron was transported to Bristol Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a suspect, Chad Couture, 35, of Bristol, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the first-degree with a firearm as well as criminal possession of a firearm.
According to police, Couture is being held on $500,000 bond.
Investigators said they recovered multiple pieces of evidence from the scene, including a handgun.
