A school bus with more a dozen kids inside was trapped underneath a live wire in Haddam Wednesday evening, according to fire officials.
The Haddam Fire Department said firefighters responded to Maple Avenue West just after 4 p.m.
A primary line fell on top of the bus, trapping 13 students and the driver, fire officials said.
The incident happened as heavy rain and strong winds moved through the state.

Eversource was called to the scene and they were able to shut off power and remove the wire.
The bus was then evacuated and the children were moved to a different bus. The kids were taken to Silver Springs Drive where they were picked up by their parents.
Eversource crews remained at the scene to repair the wire.
