Cheshire schools back in session after 2-hour delay due to transformer fire, power outage

NBC Connecticut

A large power outage led to a 2-hour delay for all Cheshire Public Schools on Thursday.

The outage was caused by a transformer fire near Cheshire High School, according to school superintendent Dr. Jeff Solan.

There were also several roads closed in the area, due to the fire.

St. Bridget School in Cheshire was also on a 2-hour delay.

The superintendent's office said the power was restored and school was back in session after the morning delay.
