Thanksgiving is almost here and one school is getting ready for it by hosting a turkey drive on Tuesday.
The Thanksgiving for All turkey drive happens every year at Goodwin University in East Hartford with the help of Connecticut Foodshare.
"We are a CT Foodshare partner, so we feel that it's our due diligence to make sure that we're meeting the needs of not just our campus community but community outside of campus as well," said Community and Education Service Learning Coordinator Isamar Rodriguez.
Rodriguez runs the food pantry at Goodwin University and makes this turkey drive possible.

This year, their goal is to collect 150 turkeys and $1500 in monetary donations.
All of this is to help CT Foodshare collect 50,000 Thanksgiving meals as the state sees even higher levels of food insecurity.

"Today, it's significantly higher than even during the pandemic," said Brittney Caveliere, the Senior Director of Strategy at CT Foodshare. She says one in eight people living in Connecticut are food insecure and so are one in six children.
Caveliere said that's due to the cost of living in our state, rising housing costs and inflation.
"We know a family of four would take them at least $100,000 just to make ends meet just here in the State of Connecticut," she said.
In previous years, dozens of people helped out to make sure families have a Thanksgiving meal.
All you have to do is drive up and hand off your donations to volunteers.
Organizers say this is one of their favorite annual events at Goodwin University.
The collection spot is in the parking lot at 167 Riverside Drive until 1 p.m.
