A Moosup home was seriously damaged after an RV parked next to the home caught fire and the flames spread to the kitchen and living room.
Plainfield Fire Marshal Paul Yellen said that crews were called to 128 Sterling Hill Road for a reported RV fire with extension to the house around 11:30 a.m. Monday.
When crews arrived they found heavy fire in the vehicle, which was parked about five feet from the home. The flames had extended to the house. Crews from Plainfield, Atwood House, Central Village, South Killingly and Danielson all responded to fight the blaze.
No one was injured, but the RV was completely destroyed and the home sustained damage to the kitchen and living room. Yellen said the home is not livable in its current condition.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Yellen said it appears it may have been caused by a problem in the RV’s electrical system.
