
Clean up is underway after a fuel spill at a gas station on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington on Tuesday.
Firefighters said a fuel tanker was making a delivery to the Citgo gas station when 500 to 1,000 gallons of fuel was estimated to have spilled during the offload process.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was requested to the scene and assessed the areas of concerns.
Clean up crews are now working to mitigate the spill.

The Berlin Turnpike was briefly closed near Kitts Lane on Tuesday morning and has since reopened.
