Waterbury fire officials are investigating after heavy fire damaged a building Saturday afternoon.
Official say they responded to a fire in a building near the intersection of Laurel Street and Williams Street around 3:55 p.m. Upon arrival they found heavy fire showing and commenced defensive ops.
The building was located in a residential area but it was vacant at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
