Criss Angel Pulls Off Houdini Death Escape at Foxwoods

A 50-pound weight hung from a noose around his neck.

Magician Criss Angel performed a Houdini like stunt for fans at Foxwoods Casino.

Criss Angel was suspended upside down with a 50-pound weight hanging from a noose around his neck today as throngs of fans stood watching outside Foxwoods Casino.

The death-defying stunt, appropriately named the Houdini Death Escape, is considered one of the most dangerous stunts a magician can perform. The illusionist succeeded in carrying it out this afternoon.

"We are ecstatic that the biggest name in magic, Criss Angel, will attempt one of the most elaborate and mind-blowing stunts in history right here at Foxwoods," said Felix Rappaport, Senior Vice President & COO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, in a statement released before Angel's stunt. "To coincide with Veteran's Day, Criss has decided to dedicate this stunt to all veterans, past and present, and we are truly honored to take part in supporting our troops."

Foxwoods happens to be where Angel’s production 'MINDFREAK LIVE!' runs from Nov. 13 to Nov. 15.
