A death investigation that's underway in central Florida might have Connecticut ties.
Police in Celebration, Florida, said four people were found dead inside of a home on Monday.
Deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said a suspect has been taken into custody, but no other details, including the names of the victims, have been released.
Neighbors tell our sister station in Orlando, WESH, that a family with three kids ranging in ages from 3 to 11 lived in the home. They also said the family's father would fly back and forth to Connecticut.
"He lived in Connecticut so he was not here during the week, but he came home on the weekends, but he was extremely nice," said neighbor Connie McGarian.
"It has come to our attention, through various news outlets, that there is an ongoing investigation into the death of several individuals who are believed to have Connecticut ties. The news reports out of Celebration, Florida are heartbreaking and as an agency we want to express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims," Connecticut State Police said in an emailed statement.

"To date, the Connecticut State Police has not received any request from local authorities in the Florida area to assist in this investigation. We are confident in their ability to conduct a thorough investigation. We ask that the public exercise patience while the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department releases information as these types of investigation tend to be complexed," the statement says.
Just before Christmas an eviction notice was filed in a Florida court for the same address as the death investigation. The documents list Megan and Anthony Todt as living in the home at the time.
According to the documents, the Todts signed a one year lease in May of 2019, but missed a December payment of more than $4,000. The lease agreement also lists an email for Anthony Todt connected to a physical therapy practice he runs in Colchester, Family Physical Therapy.
Tuesday flowers were sitting in the door at one of the businesses’ two offices.
"January first comes around and no one opens the door,” said Priya Tandon, who works out of an office just a few doors down from one of the locations. "He has three small kids. I hope they are all safe. We still have no idea."
According to Connecticut’s Office of the Attorney General, there is an open False Claims Act investigation into Anthony Todt and his business, Performance Edge Sports, which also operates under the name Family Physical Therapy. They could not comment further.
According to state records, Todt’s license to practice physical therapy lapsed in September. Megan Todt’s license is still active.
While there are still many unanswered questions, Colchester’s first selectman said that she is focusing on support for the community.
"This is not a little isolated, something that happened down in Florida,” said Mary Bylone, first selectman of Colchester. “This is impacting the community in Colchester in a big way."
NBC Connecticut reached out to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday morning and no additional information was immediately available.
