A dog walker allegedly stole nearly $38,000 worth of jewelry from a West Hartford home, police said.
Kristina Cable, of East Hartford, faces a first-degree larceny charge for the alleged theft.
Police said the 33-year-old was hired to walk a family's dog in West Hartford. An investigation was launched when the family realized valuable jewelry was missing.
The jewelry was worth $37,994, according to police.
Police said they are reviewing a "lengthy" pawn transaction record involving Cable to see if other families were victims of theft. Cable had multiple customers in West Hartford.
Police said Cable worked for a dog sitting company based in Windsor but did not disclose the name of the business.
Cable turned herself in to West Hartford police Thursday and was released on $25,000 bond. She is expected to appear in court on April 28.
