A quick and responsive team made up of police, nurses, construction workers, and more worked together to save a trapped construction worker in Rocky Hill.
A worker was seriously injured at a construction site in Rocky Hill Friday morning.
Police officers and firefighters responded to 153 Parsonage Street around 9:25 a.m. and found a 45-year-old man had been impaled by construction equipment through the leg, according to police.
Trauma surgeons from Hartford Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital were called to the site due to the severity of the injury and the fact that the construction equipment could not be removed, police said.
Other construction companies and the Rocky Hill Highway Department also responded to the scene with heavy-duty construction equipment to assist with the incident, according to police.

The victim was flown by LifeStar to Hartford Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
They did not release the victim's identity.
Rocky Hill police and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration are investigating the accident.
