Police said they have identified a 14-year-old boy suspected of leaving a note about a school shooting in the boy’s gym locker room at Maloney High School in Meriden and they will seek appropriate charges.
Police said they learned of the threatening note at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday. It referenced a “school shooting tomorrow,” which prompted extra police presence at the school on Friday.
Investigators said yesterday they did not know how long the note had been in the locker room, but the police department would be taking precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
On Friday, police and school administrators identified the student involved and school staff are dealing with him.
Meridian police are also working with school staff and said they will seek appropriate charges.
