Fire destroyed a home in Montville on Friday morning.
Crews responded to a home on Kitemaug Road around 3:30 a.m. and spent hours battling the fire.
Norwich Firefighters Local 892 posted on Facebook that crews from an engine reported a partial collapse. Photos from the scene later in the morning showed that the whole house collapsed. Some of it was smoldering several hours after the fire started.

Route 32 to the area and several local streets were closed while crews were dealing with the aftermath of the fire. The roads have since reopened.
