Firefighters are battling a brush fire in a remote section of Giuffrida Park in Meriden.
The flames burned about eight acres and spread quickly due to high winds and dry conditions, firefighters said.
Between 25 to 30 firefighters from multiple departments responded. Crews had to use ATVs and four-wheel drive vehicles to reach the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause is not yet clear.
The Forest Fire Danger Level for Saturday was very high, and the danger was expected to remain through Monday, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
