As storms spread through the state, firefighters in several communities battled blazes.
A fire at BioSafe on 22 Meadow St. in East Hartford on Wednesday morning caused a hazardous materials situation that is contained to the building, according to officials, but no one is in danger.
The company manufactures biodegradable disease-control and pest-control products, according to its Web site and those materials led to a contained hazardous materials situation.
The business is located in the front of the building and the fire started in the warehouse, which is located in the back of the building.
Whether the storms are to blame for this blaze is not known.
Firefighters have also responded to Saddlerock Road in Danbury after lightning struck a house and a fire at 27 Rodeo Drive in Monroe.
Whether weather is a factor in the Monroe fire is not known.
