Flooding causes street closures across Connecticut

Flooding closed several roads in multiple cities and towns in Connecticut on the Fourth of July.

Ansonia

Ansonia's mayor urged everyone to stay off roads with flooding.

Farmington

West Avon Road, also known as Route 167, was closed due to flooding. There was a detour along Farmington Avenue, or Route 4, to Brickyard Road.

Hartford

Multiple streets in Hartford were closed and impacted by flooding. Water was seen over the road on Homestead Avenue.

Newington

Francis Avenue was closed due to flooding.

Stafford

East Street is one of the streets in town that flooded during Tuesday's storms.

The Willimantic River on River Road also flooded in Stafford.

West Hartford

The West Hartford Fire Department said they responded to multiple vehicles stuck in the water. Residents were asked to stay home until the storm passed.

Flooding was seen at Cumberland and Middlebrook roads in West Hartford.

Firefighters said they also responded to multiple incidents of basement flooding in town.
