Founders Bridge Reopens After CTfastrak Bus Fire

The Founders Bridge in Hartford and East Hartford has reopened after it was closed due to a bus fire.

No one was on board when a new CT Transit bus caught fire, according to State Police. SkyCam footage shows that the vehicle was a new CTfastrak bus for the state's high speed busway project between Hartford and New Britain.

The bridge was closed to inbound traffic and cars were turned around, according to State Police.

Police say a sand truck was called in to absorb some fluids and tow the bus from the scene.

No one was injured.

The bridge was closed for several hours.

The bus will undergo an inspection on Monday as a result of the incident.
