Crews responded to a gas main break in Milford Monday morning in the area of Woodmont Road and Research Drive.
Officials said nearby businesses were evacuated while crews worked to bring the leak under control.
Woodmont Road was closed for a few hours but has since reopened, according to fire officials.
The bottom section of Research Drive will remain closed for the time being for construction crews to work, they said.

People were also being allowed to return to the businesses that were evacuated.
