Gov. Ned Lamont attended a grand opening ceremony Thursday for a new apartment complex in Windsor Locks.
The Montgomery Mill apartment complex is a 160-unit building that was once an abandoned factory, according to the governor's office. It is located on Canal Bank Road and is within walking distance of the train station, which will soon be served by the CT Rail Hartford Line.
The governor joined town leaders and state economic officials to tout the economic impacts the new housing unit could bring to the center of Windsor Locks.
Lamont was met by boos and chants from a small group of protesters as he spoke at the event. The group is upset with the governor's mask mandate and his decision to not fully reopen the state.
It was the second straight day that protesters showed up at an event being attended by the governor.
