A vigil was held Sunday afternoon for a grandmother shot and killed as she sat on her porch in Dorchester on Saturday.
Boston police identified the victim Sunday as 73-year-old Delois Brown. Officials have not yet announced any arrests in the case.
"My mind is blank right now," said her daughter, 48-year-old Shirley Brown. "It just don’t seem real that she’s gone."
Brown said she was outside when her mother was shot before 6 p.m. on Olney Street, and at least seven children were surrounding the elderly woman at the time.

"How could you be so reckless and careless?" she said, referring to the children around.
Police have said the woman was not the intended target.
“It just shouldn’t have happened at all. If you came to hit your target, you should have hit your target, but you missed your target and hit my mother," said Brown.

Mayor Kim Janey visited the home to console the family Sunday morning. She noted Brown's was the first homicide of her term.
"It’s not my first as someone who grew up in the city from my adolescence and, certainly, my adulthood, just given where I live. Unfortunately, this is all too common and certainly we’ve got to do much more to ensure that every neighborhood in our city is free from gun violence," she said.
Janey called shootings "all-too common, and certainly we’ve got to do much more to ensure that every neighborhood in our city is free from gun violence.”
She and other officials on Saturday evening expressed outrage at the incident in the community.
Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said Saturday that those responsible for the shooting will be held accountable.
“It’s a tragic situation. My 3-year-old daughter was out here. She saw everything and she is traumatized," Brown said.
"It’s just not right."
