A 2-year-old girl who was reported missing from Groton has been found safe, according to police.
Police said the girl was believed to be in the custody of her mother, but the mother's family had not heard from her in several weeks and law enforcement had reason to believe they needed to conduct a welfare check on the toddler.
The 2-year-old and her mother have been found and they are safe, police said on Sunday.
