Norwich Police Looking to ID Body Found Near Shetucket River

A man's body was found near the Shetucket River in Norwich Saturday night and now investigators are trying to identify the victim.

The Norwich Fire Department confirmed they were called to Hamilton Avenue near Palmer Street around 9:00 p.m.

Police said the body was male and appeared to have been dead for some time. No foul play is suspected at this point.

Investigators are trying to identify the victim. He is described as around 6-foot, 200 pounds, between 45 and 55 years of age, with brown eyes, medium length brown hair, and a brown and grey beard. He was wearing tan cargo shorts and an olive-colored plaid button down shirt.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy but the results were undetermined.
