Hartford police said a woman who was kidnapped on Maple Street Thursday morning has been found safe in Providence, Rhode Island.
The investigation started just after 8 a.m. when police received several 911 calls from callers who said a man had assaulted the woman, forced her into a vehicle, and she was screaming for help.
Hartford police put out an alert that they were looking for a 2009 Huyndai Santa Fe with Rhode Island plates 1YD 582.
The vehicle had been seen in the Glastonbury area and police said it is was possibly heading to Rhode Island.

Police spoke with the woman and the suspect by phone and determined it was a domestic incident. Police said they were able to convince the man to drop the victim, a woman in her 30s, off in Providence, Rhode Island, where police found her unharmed.
Authorities said they have not found the suspect or the vehicle and the investigation remains ongoing.
