Man Accused of Threatening Employer

The arrest came after police found broken windshields.

Vernon police arrested a man accused of threatening to beat up a homeowner whose driveway he shoveled this winter.

Over the weekend, police were called to 325 Kelly Road after three windshields were damaged, including one on a 74-year old man's car.

The man told police that Larry Maynes, 53, had been shoveling snow for him during the winter, got angry with him a week earlier and threatened to beat the older man up.

A few days later, the broken windshields were discovered.

Maynes, who police said is homeless, was charged with breach of peace and second-degree threatening. He is being held on $15,000 bond for that case. Maynes was also wanted on a violation of probation.

Vernon police said the broken windshields case remains under investigation.
