An animal rescue in Middlebury needs to find homes for all of its dogs within a month because it is closing for a while and the rescue is putting out an emergency call for help.
The Brass City Rescue Alliance will be closing around Nov. 15 until Spring due to medical circumstances.
Jennifer Humphrey, president and CEO of Brass City Rescue Alliance, said closing is a difficult decision. She had cancer earlier this year, now needs surgery and said several of her team members are dealing with medical issues of their own.
“Now I have to have the first of three back surgeries on Nov. 30 and I’m the glue that kind of holds this whole place together plus several of my team members throughout the summer and now are having their own medical issues,” she said.

The hope is that the dogs will be adopted or go into foster homes. The staff will take the remaining dogs.
"We want them taken care of and taken care of the right way," Humphrey said.
